A half century ago upon graduating from High School my father gave me a professional camera as a graduation gift. And that’s when I fell in love with the art form of Surreal/Abstract Art with my new camera that enabled me to create dreamscapes through double exposures.

Although I didn’t pursue becoming a professional photographer and instead followed my heart to become a professional musician/songwriter in the L.A. Music Scene in the 80’s (played with the Minutemen), I never lost my passion for the art of photography and Surreal/Abstract Art.

When the age of Digital Photography happened in the 90’s, I was able to expand my artwork by enhancing my photos in the computer program Photoshop. And I learned a lot about art composition when I got a degree in Desktop Publishing from the Southern California Occupational Center (SCOC).

Over the years I’ve been blessed to have lived and travelled to some of the most picturesque places (Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Europe, India, Northwest Forests, etc.) which turned out to be great canvases for my artwork.

I love the challenge of creating artwork that deals with the physicality of this world through photography... but is also digitally enhanced to create a hybrid synergy of authenticity. So my artwork then gives me the opportunity walk in-between this world and one that I see within my dreams…

A metal vase that I cut and pasted in Photoshop and used the smudge tool as a paint brush to connect some of the colors.

A bowl of apricots that had a plastic cover over it in the sun. Moisture built up inside which created this cosmic effect.

On a dock in the L.A. Harbor this is the shadow of a chain link fence that danced in the water as the ripples moved them. I then cut and pasted those images into this composite.

A butterfly magically landed on my hand in my backyard in the forest. I then quickly with my other hand grabbed my camera and took this photo. I then added extra images of my hand and the butterfly along with making the background artistically pleasing as to help capture the mood of the moment.

"Cosmic Wheat Fields"

As the sun rose on a very frosty winter day, I noticed an amazing series of ice crystals forming on my window pane. It looked like a gigantic wheat field across a cosmic ocean.

This original photo wasn't that interesting other than it had a couple of lens flares. But when I enhanced the color, the lens flares appeared like half planets. So I stretched the those images into circles to look like planets.

The snow melting from my roof turned into  this "Ice Sculpture" by nature.
